Course description:
This is a very challenging marathon course. If you run a 3:30 marathon expect to finish this race between 5-6 hours. There is a lot of elevation gain as you can see on the elevation map. This course is all ran on mountain trail and fire road. There are sections of accent and decent that are very technical; possible snow, possible stream crossings, and rocky/steep areas with exposed cliffs. This is trail marathon that is set up like an ultra marathon. There will not be aid station and porta-johns every mile or two. Also, There will not be volunteers at every turn showing you which way to go. The course will be marked with orange and blue flagging. Orange will mark the way and orange and blue together will signal up coming turns and turn offs. The course will be marked well but you must pay attention to the flagging.
Aid Stations:
There will be 4 aid stations along the way for the full and 2 aid stations for the half. They are 5-6 miles apart. Depending on how fast you run, there may be times that you are 1-1.5 hours between aid stations. It is HIGHLY recommended that you carry some type of water i.e. hydration pack, hand held, or fanny pack. There are 4 areas along the Marathon course that have restrooms, miles 6.28, .7.85, 9.55, and 11.41. There will be two restrooms for the Half at miles 6.28, and 7.85.
